How often should I weigh myself?
Now that I am exercising and should (hopefully) expect to see some changes in my weight, how often should I weigh myself? After doing some searching, it seems like all the dieticians and personal trainers recommend to do it weekly, at the same time after the same day every week. This is due to natural variations in your weight due to time of day, water retention, what we just ate, etc. Also, if you’re being nitpicky about a few pounds, try to be wearing the same amount of clothes. Or none at all. Ha.
So I’m going with Sunday morning, when I wake. That should be in 8 hours. And I’m going to take my “fat pictures” starting up again the first Sunday of each month.

I actually weigh in every morning and put the result in an Excel spreadsheet so that I can have a moving average trend line (as explained in The Hacker’s Diet. It works great for me because it appeals to my geeky love for numbers, systems, and immediate accurate feedback.
As long as I’m below the trend line, I’m losing weight, and I can use the value of the trend line over time to determine how much actual weight I’ve lost.

I also weigh every day, always when I first wake up (I say so I’ll always get a fair comparison, but really because that’s when I weigh the least). It kind of sets the tone for the day, whether I can splurge a little or need to reign it in.
